What are the Side-effects of Taking Statins
Statins are reported to have few side-effects, and if any do occur, they are usually minor. If you are on a prescription, you should always read the leaflet that came inside your box; this is the best way to see the side-effects for the brand of statins you are taking.
Typical side-effects are reported as:
- Headache
- Pins and needles
- Adominal pain
- Bloating
- Diarrhoea
- Feeling Sick
- Memory Loss
You should also be aware of a very rare side-effect; “Severe muscle inflammation” – causing unexpected muscle weakness, pains or tenderness in the muscles. If you notice these side-effects, contact your doctor immediately.
